Ingredients
- 2 cups ketchup
- ½ cup apple cider vinegar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 3 teaspoons mustard powder
- 2 tablespoon Worcestershire
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne optional
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a small saucepan and whisk them together until well combined.
- Bring the pot to a boil, whisking constantly, and then reduce to a simmer and let cook, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes.
- Remove the sauce from the heat and it's ready to be used. If you are making it ahead of time let it cool before placing it in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
Notes
- Note: I like my BBQ sauce with a little kick so I add the cayenne pepper. Feel free to leave that out, or substitute with a chipotle chili powder or regular chili powder, if you like your sauce less spicy.
