Michelada Bloody Mary Recipe
Description
This recipe combines V8 vegetable juice with fresh orange and lime juice, tequila blanco, and a light Mexican beer such as Corona or Pacifico. The ingredients are shaken together vigorously with ice until the beer goes flat, producing a smooth and integrated mixture. After straining into ice-filled glasses, Tabasco and Worcestershire sauces are added to taste, enhancing the cocktail's savory and spicy characteristics. Garnishes can include lime wedges, olives, jalapenos, celery sticks, or cheese cubes.
The method of shaking and then straining ensures a well-blended drink without excess foam or ice shards. The use of fresh citrus juices brightens the flavor and balances the vegetal note of the V8 juice. The beer lightens the cocktail and contributes a subtle malt character, distinguishing it from a traditional Bloody Mary.
This cocktail is best served immediately to preserve its fresh flavors. It suits occasions when a flavorful, savory beverage is desired, such as brunch or casual gatherings. Leftover juices should be stored separately in the refrigerator and used within a couple of days.
