Million Dollar Chicken Casserole
Description
Million Dollar Chicken Casserole combines shredded or diced chicken mixed with softened cream cheese, sour cream, and cream of chicken soup to form a rich base. The addition of chicken base and diced green onions adds depth and a mild oniony note. This mixture is placed in a casserole dish and topped with grated Colby Jack cheese and crumbled, crispy bacon before baking until the edges bubble and the cheese is browned and melted. The resulting dish has a creamy, savory filling complemented by the melted cheese and bacon's crispy texture on top.
The casserole's creamy and cheesy texture pairs well as a main course at dinner and can be served alongside vegetables or a simple salad. The crispy bacon topping provides a flavorful contrast to the creamy interior.
You can enhance the bacon flavor by mixing extra crumbled bacon into the chicken mixture before baking. This casserole is best served warm and makes an excellent make-ahead dish for family meals or potlucks.
