Mini Fruit Tarts Recipe

These Mini Fruit Tarts feature a crisp, buttery tart shell filled with a smooth mascarpone and whipped cream mixture, topped with fresh fruit. The combination provides a delicate texture contrast with creamy filling and a fresh, fruity finish, making them an elegant dessert or party treat.

Description

Mini Fruit Tarts are crafted by baking small tart shells made from a flour and powdered sugar dough mixed with butter. Once baked until golden and slightly pressed down at the center for a perfect cup shape, the tart shells are filled with a light and fluffy cream combining heavy whipping cream, mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract beaten to stiff peaks. The filling's richness balances the crispness of the tart shell.

The tarts are chilled until firm and topped just before serving with fresh fruit, adding juiciness and natural sweetness that contrasts nicely with the creamy filling and buttery base. This preparation results in an airy yet substantial dessert with a variety of textures and a pleasant sweetness.

They are a good choice for gatherings or special occasions and can be prepared ahead by baking the shells and making the filling, then assembling with fruit shortly before serving to maintain freshness and texture.
