Mini Pizzas

These Mini Pizzas use crescent roll dough shaped into small rounds, topped with pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella, and mini pepperoni. They bake in a muffin pan to create little pizza cups with golden, slightly crisp edges. The fresh parsley garnish adds a touch of color and brightness. This handheld size makes them convenient for snacks or casual meals, and their simple ingredients come together quickly in the oven.

Description

Mini Pizzas feature crescent roll dough cut into circles and pressed into muffin pan wells to form a small pizza crust base. Topped with pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella, and mini pepperoni, these bite-sized pizzas bake until the dough is golden and the cheese melts smoothly. The dough crisps along the edges while remaining tender underneath, and the pepperoni adds a familiar savory note. Fresh chopped parsley sprinkled on top lends a mild herbal contrast and a fresh appearance.

The mini format is ideal for casual gatherings or easy homemade snacks, offering portion control and a fun way to enjoy pizza flavors in a compact form. They can be prepared ahead and warmed as needed. Using crescent roll sheet dough provides a flaky, soft texture that differs from traditional pizza crust, lending a tender bite with buttery undertones.

It helps to use a cookie cutter or glass rim to cut uniform circles of dough, and opting for shredded mozzarella cheese from a block rather than pre-shredded ensures better melting without anticaking agents. This recipe combines straightforward ingredients into a practical, kid-friendly pizza alternative that is simple to assemble and bake.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 tubes crescent roll dough sheet
  • 1/3 cup pizza sauce homemade or store bought
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/3 cup mini pepperoni
  • 1 tablespoon parsley chopped, fresh
  • cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Coat the cups of a muffin pan with cooking spray.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll sheets and cut out 12 3-inch circles.
  3. Press one circle of dough into each of the muffin pan wells.
  4. Spoon the sauce evenly among the muffin cups and top with the shredded mozzarella cheese and pepperoni.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until dough is golden brown and cheese is melted.
  6. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.

Notes

  • Use a cookie cutter or glass rim to get uniform dough circles from the crescent dough sheet.
  • Ensure you buy crescent dough sheets, not pre-cut triangle rolls, to easily cut out pizza bases.
  • Shredding your own mozzarella cheese gives better melting and texture than pre-shredded cheese containing anti-caking agents.
