Description
This recipe starts with preparing brownies from a Betty Crocker fudge box mix, baked in a 9x13 pan. After cooling, a mint frosting made from powdered sugar, softened butter, mint extract, milk, and a few drops of green food coloring is spread over the top. A melted mixture of semi-sweet chocolate chips and butter is then poured over the mint layer, adding a rich, glossy chocolate coating. Ingredients
- 1 (16.3-ounce) box brownie mix plus ingredients on the box, Betty Crocker fudge
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- ½ cup butter softened
- 2 tablespoons mint extract
- 2-3 drops green food coloring
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups chocolate chips semi-sweet
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a 9x13 dish with parchment paper and lightly grease.
- Make brownies as instructed on the box and bake in the baking dish.
- Beat the powdered sugar, butter, mint extract, food coloring and milk until smooth in a medium bowl. Spread evenly over the cooled brownies (we add dollops all over the top to make it easier to spread).
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and butter until smooth. Spread over the mint layer, cover, and chill for at least 1 hour.
- Let set out for 20-30 minutes before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Box brownie mixes require additional ingredients like water, vegetable oil, and eggs as specified on the box.
- Store brownies airtight in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.
- Freeze individually wrapped brownies in freezer bags for up to 3 months.
