Miso Glazed Salmon (Pan-fried)
Description
Miso Glazed Salmon uses a glaze made from awase miso, sake, grated garlic, soy sauce, and light brown sugar to provide savory, slightly sweet, and umami flavors. The salmon fillets are dusted with potato starch to create a light coating that crisps outside while sealing juices inside during pan-frying. Sesame oil adds a toasty note and helps fry the skin to crispness.
The salmon is cooked skin-side down over medium-high heat until cooked through but still moist, about 2 minutes per side, depending on thickness. After turning off the heat, the miso glaze is added to the pan and tossed with the salmon, coating evenly and warming the sauce without burning.
Finishing with finely chopped green onions gives a bright contrast and mild onion flavor. This salmon pairs well with steamed rice or vegetables, offering a rich glaze and tender fish ideal for a flavorful but straightforward meal.
