M&M Cookie Bars
Description
The dough is made by creaming butter with granulated and brown sugars, then incorporating eggs, vanilla, and dry ingredients like flour, baking powder, and baking soda. M&M candies and mini chocolate chips are folded in for texture and bursts of sweetness. Pressing the dough into a lined pan ensures an even thickness for consistent baking.
Baking at 350°F for 22-35 minutes produces bars with a clean toothpick test indicating doneness. Once cooled, bars are removed from the pan using parchment paper, making cutting clean and easy. The result is a colorful, chewy cookie bar with chocolate and candy contrasts.
This recipe allows for variations such as adding nuts or swapping chips to customize flavor and texture. Bars can be prepared ahead of time and frozen for convenient future snacking. The cookie dough itself can also be refrigerated or frozen before baking.
Make-ahead and freezing instructions support flexibility for meal planning or gatherings, keeping the bars fresh and ready to enjoy.
