  • 1 pound flank steak thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger minced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 green onions sliced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the sliced flank steak with cornstarch until evenly coated. Set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the coated beef in a single layer and sear until browned and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the soy sauce, water, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Return the beef to the skillet and toss with the sauce until well coated. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to reheat the beef.
  5. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately.
