  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ tsp sea salt finely ground
  • ½ cup butter melted, unsalted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar , packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or maple extract
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • cup M&Ms

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F and line an 8x8 inch pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk or soft together the flour, cinnamon, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the melted butter and brown sugar.
  4. Add in the vanilla, maple and egg. Mix until incorporated.
  5. Add the dry ingredients and the oats to the wet mixture and mix with a spatula until combined.
  6. Stir in the M&Ms and chocolate chips.
  7. Spoon the dough into the prepared baking dish, using an offset spatula to even out the top.
  8. Bake on the center rack for 25 minutes or until it passses the toothpick test and appears golden brown and set.
