Monster Suckers Recipe
Description
This recipe involves combining sugar, water, and corn syrup in a pan and cooking the mixture to 300°F (the hard crack stage), ensuring a firm candy texture. After removing from heat, flavoring and food coloring are stirred in to customize the taste and appearance. The hot candy is immediately poured into prepared molds fitted with sticks that were chilled in the freezer. Candy eyeballs are added before the candy hardens, creating a monster-themed look.
The candy cools and solidifies within 10-15 minutes, resulting in durable suckers with a crisp, brittle consistency. The ability to add any flavor makes this adaptable to many tastes, with apple flavor suggested here.
Monster suckers serve as unique handmade candies suitable for celebrations, gift-giving, or themed events where fun, decorative confections are desired.
