Mung Bean Sprouts (How to Sprout Mung Bean at Home and Salad)
Description
The process begins with washing and sorting fresh mung bean sprouts to remove any tough roots or damaged pieces. They are quickly rinsed in salted boiling water for a minute, then cooled in cold water and gently squeezed to remove excess moisture. The sprouts retain their crunchy texture and freshness through this quick blanching and cooling.
The dressing combines finely chopped spring onion, minced garlic, roasted sesame seeds, light soy sauce, salt, sesame oil, and optional chili powder. Tossing the sprouts gently with this sauce coats them evenly, infusing savory, nutty, and mildly spicy flavors without overpowering the natural crispness of the sprouts.
This salad is served fresh and can be enjoyed as a simple side or healthy appetizer. The preparation maximizes the mung bean sprouts’ fresh qualities while adding balanced seasoning from the sesame and soy components.
