No Bake Cheesecake Mousse Recipe
Description
No Bake Cheesecake Mousse Recipe involves whipping heavy cream to stiff peaks and separately mixing cream cheese with sour cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. The whipped cream is gently folded into the cream cheese mixture to maintain airiness, resulting in a light and creamy mousse reminiscent of cheesecake filling. This preparation does not require baking, making it convenient for easy dessert assembly.
The mousse provides sweetness balanced by the slight tang of cream cheese and sour cream. Optional garnishes like crushed graham crackers add a subtle crunch, while fresh berries and mint lend bright, fresh flavors that contrast with the rich mousse. Chilling allows the mousse to firm up and the flavors to meld.
Serve the mousse in individual dishes or a larger bowl for sharing. It is ideal for a light dessert option when you want cheesecake-like flavor without the oven or lengthy preparation.
Store leftovers refrigerated in an airtight container for up to two days to maintain freshness and texture. Nutritional values do not account for optional toppings.
Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces cream cheese room temperature (1 brick)
- ¼ cup sour cream optional
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract pure
Optional Garnishes
- graham cracker crushed
- fresh berries
- mint leaf fresh
Instructions
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat the heavy cream on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form, about 3 minutes.
- Remove the heavy cream to another bowl and set aside until ready to use.
- Switch to the paddle attachment. To the original mixer bowl (no need to clean it), add the cream cheese and sour cream.
- Mix on medium speed until it is smooth and well combined, about 1 minute.
- Turn the mixer down to low speed and slowly add the powdered sugar.
- Once all of the sugar has been incorporated, add the vanilla and turn the mixer to medium speed. Beat on medium speed until the mixture is light and smooth, about 2 minutes.
- Add the heavy cream back to the bowl and use a rubber spatula to gently fold it into the cream cheese mixture.
- Once the mousse is fully combined, transfer it to your choice of serving dish and store it in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
- Top with crushed graham crackers, berries, and mint if desired.
Notes
- Keep the mousse refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- Optional garnishes include crushed graham crackers, fresh berries, and mint to enhance flavor and texture.
