No Bake Nutella Fudge

No Bake Nutella Fudge combines creamy hazelnut spread with butter and powdered sugar to create a dense, sweet base. A milk chocolate layer topped with additional butter smooths over the fudge, adding richness. This fudge sets quickly in the refrigerator and can be sliced before the chocolate fully hardens to achieve clean pieces. Its luscious texture and no-bake preparation make it a convenient treat for gatherings or gifts.

Description

No Bake Nutella Fudge starts by blending softened butter with hazelnut spread until smooth, then powdered sugar and vanilla extract are incorporated to form a thick mixture pressed evenly into a prepared pan. Separately, milk chocolate chips are melted slowly with softened butter to a glossy finish and spread over the Nutella base. The layered fudge is refrigerated briefly to set and then removed from the pan using parchment paper for cutting.

The chocolate topping adds a creamy contrast to the denser hazelnut fudge underneath, offering a balance of flavors and textures without any baking. The process is straightforward and quick, ideal for making a sweet treat with pantry ingredients.

This fudge slices best when the chocolate layer is slightly soft rather than fully hardened. Cleaning the knife with hot water before cutting helps achieve neater bars. The recipe produces a sweet and rich confection suited for dessert tables or casual snacking.

To avoid burning the chocolate during melting, stir frequently and melt in short intervals. Using softened butter in the chocolate mixture ensures smoothness. The fudge can be refrigerated until serving and stored wrapped to maintain texture.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 cups hazelnut spread Nutella brand
  • 1/2 cup butter softened, salted
  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips (or semi-sweet)
  • 1 tablespoon butter softened, salted

Instructions

  1. Mix Nutella and butter together in a stand mixer. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  2. Spoon the powdered sugar into the measuring cup, then level it off with a knife. Don't pack it into the cup.
  3. Add the sugar and vanilla. Beat on medium speed until the mixture is completely combined. The mixture will be very thick, but should be smooth.
  4. Line an 8x8 pan with parchment paper. Press the Nutella mixture down evenly in the pan.
  5. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl very slowly*, about 30 seconds, then stir. Then continue to melt it in 15-20 second intervals, stirring in between until the chocolate is almost melted. Add the softened tablespoon of butter, mix and melt the chocolate an additional 10 seconds if needed. The chocolate should be smooth.
  6. Spread the chocolate evenly over the Nutella mixture. Allow the fudge to set in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes. Remove the dish from the fridge. Pull up on the parchment paper to remove the fudge from the pan.
  7. While the chocolate is still slightly soft, cut the bars**. Place the bars on a cookie sheet and slide them back into the fridge to continue to set for an additional 10 minutes.
  8. Store the bars in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Stir the chocolate often while melting in short bursts to avoid burning it.
  • Add softened butter to the nearly melted chocolate to achieve a smooth consistency.
  • For clean fudge bars, cut before the chocolate layer hardens completely or dip your knife in hot water before slicing.
