No Bake Oreo Delight

No Bake Oreo Delight layers crushed Oreo cookies mixed with melted butter as a base crust, topped with a smooth cream cheese and powdered sugar mixture, followed by instant chocolate pudding and Cool Whip layers. This chilled dessert combines creamy, chocolatey, and crunchy textures without baking, making it convenient and indulgent.

Description

No Bake Oreo Delight features a crust made from crushed Oreo cookies blended with melted butter and pressed into a pan. The next layer combines softened cream cheese beaten with half of the Cool Whip and powdered sugar, creating a sweet and smooth cream layer. Over this, instant chocolate pudding is prepared with milk, allowed to set briefly, and then spread evenly. The dessert is topped with the remaining Cool Whip to finish a light, creamy topping.

The dessert is chilled for at least one hour or overnight to allow layers to firm up and flavors to meld. The combination delivers textures from crunchy chocolate cookie crust, smooth cream cheese mixture, creamy chocolate pudding, and fluffy Cool Whip. It is often garnished with strawberries or shaved chocolate just before serving.

This no-bake layered delight is convenient for warm weather or when an oven is not desired. Using room temperature cream cheese helps achieve a lump-free filling. Instant pudding simplifies preparation, but cooked chilled pudding can be substituted if desired. The dessert can be frozen for later use and should be thawed overnight in the refrigerator before serving.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 package Oreo cookies regular or double stuffed
  • 1 tick butter melted
  • 16 oz. Cool Whip separated
  • 8 oz. cream cheese at room temperature
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar aka powdered sugar
  • 5.9 oz. chocolate pudding instant
  • 2 ¾ cup milk

Instructions

  1. Crush the whole bag of Oreos in a  food processor. (You can also do this by hand if needed.)
  2. Combine the Oreos and melted butter until well-combined. Press the mixture on the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan to make a crust.
  3. Using hand mixer, beat the cream cheese in a large bowl for 1 minute. Room temperature cream cheese is necessary for this layer to have a smooth consistency when combined with the next set of ingredients. Otherwise, lumps will form.
  4. Add HALF of of Cool Whip, and reserve the second half for the topping.
  5. Add the powdered sugar. Beat until well-combined and smooth. Spread across the top of the Oreo crust.
  6. Whisk the instant pudding and the milk for 2 minutes. Let it set for 5 minutes, then spread over the Cool Whip/sugar mixture.
  7. Top with remaining 8 ounces of Cool Whip.
  8. Refrigerate for a minimum of 60 minutes prior to serving. You can also refrigerate it overnight.
  9. Top with strawberries just before serving if desired. You can also add shaved chocolate to the top.

Notes

  • Using room temperature cream cheese is important to avoid lumps in the filling.
  • Cooked pudding can be used instead of instant; make sure it is fully chilled before layering.
  • This dessert can be frozen; thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
  • Optionally top with strawberries or shaved chocolate for added flavor and presentation.
