No Bake Peanut Butter Bars

No Bake Peanut Butter Bars feature a chewy, sweet base made from a cooked mixture of brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup blended with peanut butter and vanilla. Combined with crunchy cornflakes and Rice Krispies, these bars have pleasant texture contrast and are topped with a smooth chocolate and vegetable oil coating. They are pressed into a pan and chilled to set without any baking.

Description

These No Bake Peanut Butter Bars start by boiling brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup briefly to create a syrupy base. Peanut butter and vanilla are whisked in for creaminess and flavor before folding in crunchy cornflakes and Rice Krispies cereal, which add a light, crisp texture. The mixture is pressed firmly into a prepared 8x8 pan and cooled to set. After firming, a topping of melted chocolate chips combined with a little vegetable oil is spread evenly over the bars and cooled until hardened, creating a rich chocolate layer that complements the nutty, sweet base. This dessert requires no oven time, making it convenient for quick preparation and a popular treat to serve.
