Nutella Banana Bread

We swirled Nutella into our classic banana bread to give it swirls of delicious chocolate and hazelnut. This banana bread recipe is a favorite in our house and it will be in yours too!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter room temperature
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 medium over-ripe bananas mashed
  • 3/4 cup Nutella

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x5 loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla until combined. Mix in the bananas.
  4. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet and stir until just combined.
  5. Add the Nutella to a medium bowl and microwave for 20 seconds to soften it. Stir 1 cup of the banana bread batter into the Nutella until well combined.
  6. Drop large spoonfuls of the batters, alternating between each one, into the prepared pan. Use a butter knife to swirl the batters together lightly.
  7. Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then move to a wire rack to finish cooling.

Notes

  • Bananas should be very ripe for the best banana bread.
  • You can mix in up to a cup of chopped walnuts or chocolate chips, if desired.
  • Store banana bread, tightly covered, on the counter for 3-4 days.
