Nutella Fudge Recipe
Description
The Nutella Fudge Recipe brings together classic fudge ingredients with the distinctive taste of Nutella spread. Butter, powdered and brown sugar, and milk are cooked gently and simmered to thoroughly dissolve the sugars, giving the fudge a smooth base. After removing from heat, Nutella and vanilla extract are stirred in to infuse the fudge with hazelnut chocolate flavor and aroma. The fudge is then chilled until fully set, resulting in squares that hold their shape well but remain creamy to the bite.
The fudge is sliced into one to two-inch cubes for serving. Its smooth texture comes from careful simmering and quick incorporation of the Nutella. The use of both powdered and brown sugar adds subtle depth and sweetness beyond granulated sugar alone. It is stored best refrigerated to maintain texture and freshness for up to a week.
Though it requires attentive stirring during the simmer to avoid graininess, the process yields a tender, luscious fudge distinctly flavored by Nutella. This treat is ideal for a special dessert, gifts, or satisfying a sweet craving with a chocolate and hazelnut twist.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter unsalted
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 cups light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup milk whole
- 1 cup Nutella
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- When melted, add brown sugar, powdered sugar and whole milk. Whisk until smooth, continuing to heat. Bring to a low simmer, stirring constantly, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Make sure to allow it to simmer for 3-4minutes. If not, the sugars won’t totally dissolve and you’ll have grainy fudge.
- Remove from heat and whisk in Nutella, vanilla extract and Kosher salt.
- Immediately pour into a 8x8 or 9x9 square dish lined with plastic wrap.
- Cover and place in the fridge for a minimum of 6 hours to set.
- Remove plastic wrap and slice into 1-2 inch cubes.
- Store fudge in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
