Nutella Stuffed French Toast
Description
This Nutella Stuffed French Toast uses brioche bread for its tender crumb and slightly sweet flavor. Each slice is carefully slit on top and bottom to create a pocket filled with about a tablespoon of Nutella using a piping bag or sandwich bag corner. The filling ensures each bite includes melty chocolate and hazelnut paste.
The bread is dunked in a mixture of eggs, egg yolks, half and half or light cream, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon, which yields a custard coating that crisps up when cooked on a griddle heated to 275°F. Cooking each side for 2-3 minutes produces a golden crust while maintaining a soft interior. After cooking, the French toast is brushed with melted butter and tossed in cinnamon sugar for extra flavor and texture.
Nutella Stuffed French Toast can be served immediately, optionally topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce for added richness. The recipe includes tips to prepare the egg mixture and bread in advance for convenience, and offers variations to reduce batch size. Warming cooked slices in a low oven keeps them ready to serve when making multiple batches.

- 2 large egg yolk

Instructions
- Preheat griddle to 275°F. Combine sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Set aside.

Notes
- Prepare the egg mixture ahead and store covered in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.
- Slices can be filled with Nutella up to 48 hours in advance and refrigerated before cooking.

- Keep cooked French toast warm on a baking sheet in a 175°F oven while making multiple batches.
- To make half the recipe, halve the eggs and other ingredients accordingly.
