Oatmeal Pie
Description
The Oatmeal Pie recipe involves whisking together eggs, granulated sugar, light brown sugar, softened salted butter, rolled oats, half and half, and vanilla extract. This mixture is poured into an unbaked pie crust, which is then baked at 350ºF until the center is set and the crust is lightly browned. The oats add chewiness to the custard-like filling, while the sugars contribute sweetness and moisture.
This pie is often served warm with a scoop of ice cream to complement its rich sweetness and soft texture, making it a comforting dessert option. Optional additions like raisins or chopped nuts can be stirred into the filling if desired, providing variation in flavor and texture.
The calorie count provided assumes the pie is cut into eight slices. Note that brands and ingredient differences can affect nutritional values. Dark brown sugar can replace light brown sugar to deepen flavor.
