Instructions
- If your chicken wings aren't cut apart, cut them into flats and drumettes. Discard the wing tips.
- Pat the wings dry with paper towels and put them in a large bowl.
- Add the baking powder and 1/2 tablespoon of seasoning mix to the bowl and toss the wings to mix.
- Put the chicken wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd them. Cook the wings in batches if necessary.
- Air fry at 360 degrees F for 18 minutes, flipping them over after 10 minutes.
- After 18 minutes, increase the air fryer heat to 400 degrees F and air fry for 6 more minutes. Transfer wings to a plate or baking sheet.
- Melt the butter in the microwave and stir in the teaspoon of Old Bay.
- Brush each wing with the buttery wing sauce.
Oven Baking Instructions
- Prepare the wings as directed and place them on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 425 degrees oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping them once.
- Brush the wings with the butter and Old bay as directed above.
Notes
- Add some hot sauce to butter and Old Bay mixture for extra heat.
- Old Bay seasoning has plenty of salt. Don't add extra salt to the wings, and use unsalted butter to coat them.
- The wings don't need oil or nonstick cooking spray to get crispy.
- If you air fry the wings, it is easier to fit them in the basket if you separate the flats and drumettes.
