Olive Garden Toasted Ravioli
Description
This Olive Garden Toasted Ravioli recipe features refrigerated meat ravioli breaded in flour, eggs, and a mixture of panko breadcrumbs seasoned with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. The ravioli are fried in hot vegetable oil at 350°F until golden brown, creating a crunchy coating that complements the soft pasta and meat filling.
The fried ravioli develop a crisp outer layer while remaining tender inside, offering a pleasing contrast in textures. The addition of garlic powder and Italian seasoning in the breading creates a fragrant, savory crust that pairs well with the accompanying warm marinara dipping sauce. Fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese add an herbal and cheesy finish to the dish.
To serve, the toasted ravioli are best enjoyed warm immediately after frying, allowing the coating to stay crisp. The marinara sauce provides a moist element to each bite, balancing the richness of the fried ravioli. This dish works well as an appetizer or snack, bringing a familiar Italian-American flavor profile to the table.
Careful temperature control while frying ensures the ravioli do not burn, preserving the golden crust. Using fully thawed ravioli if frozen helps the breading adhere properly and fry evenly. This recipe can utilize any meat ravioli variety.
Ingredients
- 1 bag meat ravioli 20 oz bag, refrigerated
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 egg large
- 1 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
- vegetable oil for frying
For Serving:
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- parsley chopped, fresh
- 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 350 degrees F.
- Place the flour in a shallow bowl. Whisk the eggs in a separate shallow bowl. Then mix together the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning in a 3rd shallow bowl.
- Then dip the ravioli in the flour, then in the eggs and then in the breadcrumb mixture (pressing it to coat the ravioli with the breading).
- After the ravioli has been breaded, place it in the hot oil (working batches being careful not to overcrowd the pan) and cook for approximately 1-2 minutes per side until both sides are golden brown. Then move them to a plate lined with paper towels to soak up the excess oil.
- Continue this process until all the raviolis have been fried.
- Serve while warm topped with the fresh parsley and grated Parmesan Cheese with the marinara sauce for dipping.
- Enjoy!
Notes
- Maintain oil temperature around 350°F to prevent burning and ensure even browning.
- Fully thaw frozen ravioli before breading and frying to achieve proper crispness.
- This recipe is adaptable to any type of meat ravioli you prefer.
