Orange Fanta Trifle
Description
This trifle begins with a cake batter made from eggs, sugar, oil, vanilla, flour, baking soda, and Fanta orange soda, which adds moisture and flavor. The cake is baked in an ungreased pan, cooled completely, then crumbled to form the base layers in a jar or dish.
The orange gelatin mousse incorporates prepared orange gelatin folded into softly whipped cream, chilled until set. Mandarin orange slices add a juicy, fresh fruit layer, and whipped cream sweetened with sugar provides a light finish. These components are layered repeatedly — cake, mandarin oranges, mousse — topped with whipped cream.
The resulting dessert showcases citrus flavors throughout with the balance of light-textured cake and creamy, fruity layers. It's visually appealing served in clear containers to display the layers.
