Orange Marmalade Salmon

Orange Marmalade Salmon features salmon filets marinated in a mixture of orange marmalade, soy sauce, ginger, rice vinegar, garlic, and a pinch of cayenne pepper for a balance of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors. After marinating, the salmon is baked until cooked through with a tender texture and flavorful glaze. This recipe offers a bright, slightly tangy seafood entree with an easy preparation method.

Description

This recipe prepares salmon filets by first mixing together a marinade comprising orange or tangerine marmalade, soy sauce, freshly grated ginger, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and a pinch of cayenne pepper to add subtle heat. The salmon is placed in the marinade flesh side down, allowing the flavors to penetrate the fish for 30 minutes up to 2 hours.

After marination, the oven is preheated to 375°F (190°C), and the salmon is flipped skin side down, then baked for 12-15 minutes depending on thickness, until the salmon flakes easily and is cooked through. The resulting dish has a sweet and savory glaze with fresh citrus notes from the marmalade complemented by the warm spice of ginger and touch of cayenne.

Orange Marmalade Salmon serves well as a light main course and pairs nicely with steamed vegetables, rice, or a simple salad. The marinade's balance ensures the fish remains moist and flavorful without being overly sweet. The recipe is straightforward, making it suitable for weeknight dinners or casual entertaining.
