Oreo Chocolate Cobbler
Description
This cobbler starts with a batter made from all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, milk, vegetable oil, and cocoa powder, into which crushed Oreo cookies are stirred and sprinkled on top. A mixture of brown sugar and additional cocoa powder is sprinkled over the batter before hot coffee is poured slowly on top without stirring. During baking, the coffee infuses moisture and flavor, creating a cake-like top layer with a sauce beneath.
The cocoa and Oreo pieces offer a rich chocolate taste accented by the slight bitterness of coffee, which balances the sweetness. The baking powder helps the batter rise into a tender crumb. After baking, letting it rest helps the cobbler set before serving with cold, creamy vanilla ice cream to contrast warm textures and flavors.
This dessert suits those who enjoy combining chocolate with coffee notes and contrasting textures from soft cobbler, crunchy cookie bits, and smooth ice cream. It’s a cozy treat for colder days or casual gatherings.
