Oreo Cookie Pie Crust

This Oreo Cookie Pie Crust recipe creates a crunchy and rich base for pies using regular Oreo cookies with their cream filling. The cookies are finely crushed and combined with melted butter and salt, then pressed into a crust shape and baked briefly to hold its form. The crust has a distinctive, slightly sweet chocolate flavor that pairs well with creamy or fruity pie fillings. It’s ideal when you want a no-bake or quick-setting crust that adds a familiar cookie taste and texture to your dessert.

Description

The Oreo Cookie Pie Crust uses 24 standard Oreo cookies crushed finely with the cream included to maintain flavor and moisture. Mixing in melted butter binds the crumbs, while salt heightens the taste unless salted butter is used, in which case salt is omitted. Pressing the mixture firmly into a pie pan ensures a solid base without cracks. Baking at 350°F for 12 minutes stabilizes the crust and enhances the buttery notes. The crust should cool completely before adding any pie filling to prevent sogginess.

This crust is especially suitable for no-bake pies or cheesecakes where a firm, flavorful cookie base is desired. Its smooth, fine texture provides a good contrast to creamy or soft fillings.

To prepare the crust without a blender, Oreos can be crushed finely in a ziplock bag using a rolling pin or meat tenderizer, although this requires more effort. For best results, scraping the blender sides or using a tamper can help achieve an even crumb texture.

  • Ensure cookies are crushed into fine crumbs for a consistent crust texture.
  • Press the crumbs evenly and firmly into the pie pan to avoid cracks during baking.

  • If you don't have a blender or food processor, crush Oreos inside a sealed bag with a rolling pin or meat tenderizer until very fine.
