Oreo Dip

This Oreo Dip blends softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and Cool Whip with crushed Oreo cookies to create a creamy, sweet dessert dip. The dip combines smooth, fluffy texture with crunchy Oreo bits for contrast. It is chilled before serving and pairs well with fruit, crackers, or cookies for dipping, making it a versatile sweet spread.

Description

Oreo Dip offers a creamy and sweet option for dessert or snacking by combining smooth cream cheese and powdered sugar with vanilla extract and fluffy Cool Whip. The folded-in crushed Oreos add texture and rich chocolate flavor without being overly fine, maintaining small chunks that provide a pleasant crunch.

Chilling the dip allows the flavors to meld and the texture to firm slightly. This dip pairs well with a variety of dippers such as strawberries, apple slices, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or additional Oreos, making it great for parties or casual treats.

The recipe suggests gently crushing the Oreos either with a rolling pin inside a sealable bag or pulsing gently in a food processor to avoid turning the pieces into powder. This allows for better texture within the dip.

Ingredients

  • 1 block (8 ounces) cream cheese softened
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups Cool Whip thawed
  • 15 Oreo cookies crushed (not super fine, you still want a few small chunks)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, using an electric hand mixer, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. Fold in Cool Whip. Remove about 2 to 3 tablespoons of the crushed Oreos and set aside. Gently fold in the remaining Oreos into the dip.
  2. Transfer to a serving bowl and top with the reserved crushed Oreos.
  3. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with strawberries, apple slices, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, Oreos, or anything you’d like.

Notes

  • To crush Oreos, place them in a sealed plastic bag and gently crush with a rolling pin for the best texture.
  • If using a food processor, pulse only a few times to avoid pulverizing the cookies into fine crumbs.
  • Refrigerate the dip before serving to improve firmness and flavor blending.
