Instructions
- Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper. This will be used to place the chocolate-covered Oreos after dipping.
Melting the Chocolate in Microwave
- Break or chop your chocolate into small, uniform pieces and place them in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave the chocolate on a medium to low heat setting (50% power) in short intervals, typically 20-30 seconds at a time.
- After each microwave interval, take the bowl out and stir the chocolate until it is smooth and completely melted. This helps distribute the heat evenly and prevents overheating. Even if the chocolate pieces don't look fully melted, keep stirring.
- Continue microwaving and stirring in short intervals until the chocolate is fully melted.
Melting the Chocolate in Double Boiler
- You can also use a double boiler (a.k.a bain-marie or water bath) to melt the chocolate chips or pieces.
- Fill a saucepan with about an inch of water and place it on the stove. Heat the water over low to medium heat until it simmers gently.
- Find a heatproof glass or stainless steel bowl that fits snugly on top of the saucepan without touching the simmering water.
- Place your chocolate pieces in the heatproof bowl and set it with the chocolate on top of the simmering water.
- The steam from the simmering water will gently heat the bowl, melting the chocolate slowly and evenly. Stir the chocolate occasionally as it melts.
- Once the chocolate is smooth and fully melted, carefully remove the bowl from the double boiler.
Dipping the Oreos
- Take an Oreo cookie, place a banana slice on top, and dip it into the melted chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. You can use a fork or a dipping tool to help with this.
- After dipping, let the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl by gently lifting and tapping the fork's edge against the bowl.
- Place it on the parchment paper-lined baking sheet or tray.
- Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle the top of the chocolate-covered Oreo with your choice of sprinkles to add a colorful and crunchy element.
- Continue dipping until all your Oreos are covered.
- Let them cool and allow the chocolate to harden.

Notes
- Opt for good-quality chocolate for a smoother and tastier coating. You can choose between dark, milk, or white chocolate, depending on your preference.
- When dipping Oreos into the melted chocolate, use a fork or a dipping tool to ensure even coverage.
- When you're adding toppings like sprinkles or crushed nuts, do so immediately after dipping while the chocolate is still soft.
- Allow the chocolate-covered Oreos to cool and harden on parchment paper in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes.
