Pad Krapow Chicken Recipe (Thai Basil Stir-Fry)
Description
This Thai basil stir-fry begins by creating a thick paste of garlic and chilies, which is sautéed until golden to develop depth. Chicken is quickly stir-fried to retain tenderness, then combined with Golden Mountain sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and sugar to build complex layers of flavor with savory, sweet, and salty elements.
Finishing the dish with holy basil leaves added off the heat ensures the herb remains bright and fragrant without overcooking. The result is a saucy stir-fry with tender chicken pieces deeply infused with seasoning and aromatic basil highlights.
Pad Krapow Chicken is typically served with jasmine rice to temper the heat and carry the rich sauce, and it can be accompanied by Thai chili fish sauce and fresh cucumber slices to add a cooling contrast. These garnishes can help customize the dish to taste and refresh the palate between bites.
