Pan Seared New York Strip Steak with Garlic Butter Sauce + Onions
Description
Start by rubbing New York Strip steaks with a blend of salt, pepper, cumin, ground coriander, and paprika for a balanced, mildly spiced crust. The steaks are cooked on a hot grill pan initially for quick searing, then flipped to cook the other side while adding thick-cut onions and butter. Garlic cloves are added towards the end to infuse the butter sauce with garlic flavor without burning.
The resting period after cooking allows the juices to redistribute for a tender, juicy interior. The combination of spices and the cooking method creates a savory crust that pairs well with the softness of the cooked onions and the richness of the garlic butter. Serving recommendations include warm mashed potatoes or fries, complementing the steak's flavors.
