Paprika Chips

Report
Paprika Chips are oven-baked potato chips seasoned with olive oil, paprika, garlic granules, salt, and black pepper. The preparation involves coating evenly sliced potatoes with the seasoning mix and baking them until crisp, resulting in a flavorful snack or side dish with a smoky spice note and a crispy texture.

Description

This recipe begins with cutting firm potatoes into evenly sized chips to ensure uniform cooking. They are tossed with olive oil, paprika for smoky color and flavor, garlic granules for a savory kick, sea salt, and freshly ground black pepper. The coated chips are arranged in a single layer on a baking tray to promote crispness rather than steaming.

Baked at a high temperature for 45-50 minutes, with occasional turning, the chips develop a crispy exterior while keeping tender inside. The paprika and garlic blend infuses the potatoes with a warm, aromatic seasoning. For extra crispiness, adding cornflour before the paprika can create a firmer crust.

This dish works well as a snack, appetizer, or side accompanying sandwiches, grilled dishes, or salads. Proper spacing on the baking tray is crucial to achieve the desired crisp texture.

Using hands to mix the potatoes with oil and seasoning ensures thorough coating. Cutting chips evenly helps them cook at the same rate, avoiding some pieces burning or undercooking.
