Parmesan Zucchini
Description
Parmesan Zucchini involves preparing zucchini by quartering and slicing into sticks, then tossing with olive oil to evenly coat. A mixture of breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper is added and mixed until the zucchini pieces are well-covered. The sticks are arranged on a greased baking sheet in a single layer to ensure even baking.
Baked at a high temperature (425°F), the coating crisps up and turns golden, while the zucchini inside softens but maintains structure. The Parmesan cheese adds a savory, slightly nutty flavor, and the seasoning blend enhances the overall taste. Serving immediately preserves the crunch.
These zucchini sticks are enjoyable alone, or served with marinara or a dipping sauce. They can accompany main dishes or be a lighter snack option.
Italian seasoned breadcrumbs can be used as a substitute for plain breadcrumbs plus dried Italian herbs if desired, simplifying preparation.
