Passover Chocolate Chip Cookies
Description
Passover Chocolate Chip Cookies are prepared by creaming unsalted butter with brown sugar, honey, vanilla, and kosher salt, then incorporating eggs. Matzo cake meal and matzo meal replace traditional flour, maintaining Passover compliance while providing structure. Chocolate chips are folded into the dough for bursts of sweetness.
The dough is portioned by tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets, flattened slightly, and baked at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes until edges are lightly golden. These cookies develop a tender but sturdy texture that holds the chocolate chips and rich buttery flavor. Their sweetness and comforting familiar chocolate chip cookie character make them a popular Passover dessert.
Serving the cookies slightly warmed enhances their softness and chocolate melt. They pair well with a cold glass of milk as a classic treat.
