Peach Blueberry Crisp
Description
Peach Blueberry Crisp combines fresh or well-prepared peaches and blueberries with sugar, flour, lemon juice, and cinnamon to create a juicy, flavorful filling. This is poured into a baking dish and topped with a mixture of flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, cold cubed butter, cinnamon, baking powder, and a dash of salt. The topping is worked into small crumbs before being sprinkled over the fruit.
Baked at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 30 minutes, the dessert develops a golden, crisp topping with tender fruit beneath. Cooling for 10 minutes after baking allows the filling to set slightly and the crumble to firm up before serving. The combination offers a balance of soft fruit and crunchy topping with warm spices.
This crisp works well with fresh ripe peaches but frozen or canned can be used; proper thawing and draining ensure the right fruit consistency and sweetness level. Adjusting sugar quantities depending on fruit sweetness is recommended. The dish is best served warm as a comforting dessert.
