Peach Cobbler

Peach Cobbler features a warm, baked mixture of fresh sliced peaches sweetened and spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, topped with a buttery biscuit-like crust sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. The contrast between the soft, juicy fruit filling and the crumbly, golden topping creates a comforting dessert perfect for using ripe peaches.

Description

This Peach Cobbler begins by combining sliced peaches with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch to create a thickened, spiced fruit base. After baking that mixture briefly, a topping made from flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and chilled butter is processed into coarse crumbs and combined with water to form a dough.

The topping is spread over the hot peach mixture and dusted with cinnamon sugar before baking until golden and crisp. The resulting texture pairs a warm, fragrant fruit filling with a rich, buttery crust that has a subtle sugar crunch on top.

This dessert is typically served warm and offers a classic balance of sweet and spice, showcasing fresh peach flavor enhanced by cinnamon and nutmeg. The combination of textures in this cobbler makes it satisfying and familiar.
