Peach Crisp

Peach Crisp features a tender peach filling enhanced by a mix of sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla, topped with a crunchy blend of oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cold butter. Baking yields a golden, crisp topping that contrasts with the soft fruit beneath. This dessert is ideal for showcasing ripe peaches and serves well served warm, especially with vanilla ice cream.

Description

Peach Crisp combines peeled, sliced peaches tossed with sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and vanilla to create a sweet, slightly tangy fruit base. The topping includes oats and brown sugar combined with flour, butter, cinnamon, and baking powder, producing a crisp texture after baking. The butter in the topping adds richness and helps create a golden crust. Baking at 375°F until the crust is crisp and golden results in a pleasing contrast between the soft filling and crunchy topping. This crisp works well as a seasonal dessert when peaches are ripe and can be served warm, typically topped with vanilla ice cream to balance the tartness.
