Peach Yogurt Panna Cotta blends peach-flavored yogurt with gelatin, heavy cream, and sugar to create a creamy, set custard. The mixture is chilled in ramekins and served unmolded with macerated peaches for a fresh and fruity garnish. Optional flavor enhancements include lemon juice and peach schnapps.

Description

This panna cotta starts by blooming gelatin in a mix of water and lemon juice, then incorporating it into heated sweetened cream. The gelatin ensures the final dessert sets to a smooth, soft custard. Peach yogurt combined with the remaining cream and optional peach schnapps adds fruity flavor and richness to the mixture. After blending all components, the custard is poured into prepared ramekins to chill for several hours until firm.

Before serving, peaches are macerated with honey to release juices and sweetness, complementing the panna cotta’s creamy texture. The dessert is inverted from the ramekins for an elegant presentation.

  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons gelatin
  • 2 ounce containers yogurt Yoplait peach flavor
  • ¾ cup heavy cream divided
  • cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Peach Schnapps optional
  • 4 tablespoons honey optional
  • 1 cup peach fresh or frozen (defrosted, sliced

Instructions

  1. Spray 4 half-cup ramekins with vegetable spray and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the water, lemon juice and gelatin Stir to combine and set aside.
  3. In a glass measuring cup, measure out the heavy cream to 3/4 cup.
  4. In a small saucepan, pour about half of the heavy cream (eyeball it --it'll be about 3 ounces)  and add the sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar is dissolved.  Remove from heat and whisk in the gelatin mixture, until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the yogurt and remainder of the heavy cream, schnapps (if using) and whisk. Add the gelatin-cream mixture and whisk until well combined. Ladle the custard into prepared ramekins and refrigerate 2-3 hours or overnight.  
  6. In a small bowl combine the honey and peaches and set aside to macerate for 15-20 minutes. 
  7. Run a sharp paring knife under hot water, then loosing the panna cotta by running the knife around the rim of the ramekin.  Invert the ramekins onto a dessert dish and garnish with honeyed peaches.
