Peaches and Cream Cobbler

This Peaches and Cream Cobbler combines sliced thawed peaches with a rich batter made from flour, milk, sugars, and baking powder, topped with dollops of a sweetened cream cheese mixture. Baked until golden brown, it offers a moist, tender texture with pockets of creamy sweetness. The layering of melted butter at the bottom adds a buttery richness and slight crispness to the crust, making it a comforting dessert to serve warm.

Description

The Peaches and Cream Cobbler features a batter made from all-purpose flour, milk, white and brown sugars, baking powder, and salt. This batter is poured over melted butter in a baking dish, which creates a rich base that crisps during baking. Freshly sliced thawed peaches are layered on top, then small spoons of sweetened cream cheese—mixed with an egg, brown sugar, and vanilla—are dotted over the peaches to add creamy pockets throughout the cobbler.

Baked at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 to 45 minutes, the cobbler develops a golden brown crust while maintaining a soft, slightly gooey interior. The contrast between the tender fruit, creamy topping, and buttery crust offers a pleasing texture variety.

Serve the cobbler warm, possibly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream to complement the creamy, fruity filling and crust. This dessert suits casual family meals or special gatherings where a homey sweet finish is desired.
