Peanut Butter Balls

Peanut Butter Balls combine creamy peanut butter, butter, powdered sugar, and crispy rice cereal rolled into bite-sized spheres and coated in melted semi-sweet chocolate. The texture contrasts a firm peanut butter center with a crisp chocolate shell, making a sweet treat that can be stored at room temperature or refrigerated.

Description

The recipe mixes peanut butter and softened butter before adding powdered sugar and rice crispy cereal to create a thick, moldable mixture. This blend is rolled into one-inch balls chilled briefly to firm up. The chilled balls are dipped in melted semi-sweet chocolate, coating them evenly and forming a crisp shell after cooling.

The resulting peanut butter balls have a dense, slightly crunchy interior from the cereal balanced by the smooth chocolate exterior. The chocolate sets on parchment paper at room temperature or refrigeration. The treat is suitable for easy dessert servings or snacks, and the chocolate layer adds a polished finish.

Chilling the peanut butter balls before dipping helps the chocolate set faster and more evenly. Melting the chocolate in short bursts prevents burning. A toothpick can be used to swirl the chocolate coat while it firms to avoid pooling. Store these treats sealed at room temperature for a few days or refrigerate for longer freshness, even freezing if desired.

  • Swirling dipped balls with a toothpick prevents chocolate from settling unevenly during drying.
  • Store at room temperature for up to 3-4 days or refrigerate for up to a week in an airtight container. Freezing is also an option.
