Peanut Butter Blondie Bars
Description
This recipe for Peanut Butter Blondie Bars builds a buttery, peanut butter-rich batter by creaming together softened butter and creamy peanut butter before incorporating light brown and granulated sugars. Eggs are beaten in one at a time to provide lift, followed by vanilla extract for aroma. Dry ingredients including all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt are whisked separately then gradually added to the wet mixture to create a thick batter. Milk is stirred in to balance the texture.
The batter is spread into a prepared 13x9 pan lined with parchment paper or foil with non-stick spray to ensure easy removal. Baking at 350°F for 25 to 28 minutes results in bars with a golden exterior and moist crumb, checked by a toothpick that emerges mostly clean with a few moist crumbs. Once cooled, bars can optionally be brushed with melted dark chocolate for richness and presentation.
The result is a dense, chewy bar with a deep peanut butter taste, perfect for dessert or snack. These bars hold together well for slicing and sharing, and the chocolate topping adds a touch of decadence.
