Peanut Butter Brownies

Peanut Butter Brownies blend melted semi-sweet chocolate and peanut butter with a simple batter that includes sugar, butter, egg, and vanilla. The addition of peanut butter and chocolate chips gives these brownies rich, contrasting flavors and a soft, fudgy texture. These individually portioned brownies are baked just until set with a slightly wet center that firms upon cooling, then filled with melted peanut butter for a creamy surprise inside.

Description

This recipe combines white sugar, softened butter, water, and semi-sweet chocolate melted together to form a rich base. After mixing in egg and vanilla, dry ingredients including flour and baking soda are folded in. Peanut butter chips and semi-sweet chocolate chips are stirred into the batter to add texture and flavor. The batter is portioned into a lined muffin pan to produce individual brownies.

Baking at 350°F for about 13 minutes results in a top that appears set but has a moist center. Cooling on a wire rack allows the centers to sink slightly, creating a cavity. Melted peanut butter is spooned into each hole, adding a smooth, creamy contrast. Additional chocolate chips decorate the top, enhancing the visual appeal and chocolate flavor.

These brownies are excellent for single servings and make a convenient treat or dessert portioned for easy sharing. The combination of peanut butter and chocolate yields a familiar flavor pairing with a soft, moist texture suited for those who enjoy luscious, rich brownies.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup white sugar
  • ¼ cup butter softened, regular
  • 1 TB water
  • ¾ cup semi sweet chocolate chips for melting
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup flour
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ½ cup peanut butter chips
  • ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips plus 1/3 cup for garnish
  • ¾ cup peanut butter creamy

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.  Line muffin pan with liners.  Spray liners with oil.
  2. In large glass bowl, combine sugar, butter, and water, and microwave until butter is melted (about 1 min).
  3. Stir in 3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips until melted.  Mix in egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In separate bowl, mix flour and baking soda to combine.  Add flour mixture to melted chocolate mixture, stirring until blended.  Stir in 1/2 cup peanut butter chips and 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips.  Spoon batter by heaping tablespoonfuls into liners.
  5. Bake 13 minutes, or until top looks set, but toothpick inserted in center comes out somewhat wet (it will set up once cooled.)  Place muffin pan on wire rack for 5-10 minutes, to allow centers to fall upon cooling.  If centers don’t fall, tap centers gently to make a hole.
  6. While brownies are still hot, place peanut butter in microwave for 45 seconds and stir.  Spoon about a tablespoon of peanut butter into each brownie center.  Decorate with semi sweet chocolate chips.  Allow to set a little and enjoy!

Notes

  • Microwave and stir peanut butter before filling the brownie centers for easy incorporation.
  • Bake until the top looks set but a toothpick inserted in the center comes out slightly wet to achieve a fudgy texture.
  • Cooling the brownies in the pan for 5-10 minutes lets centers sink to form cavities for the filling.
  • Lining the muffin pan and spraying liners helps easy removal of brownies after baking.
  • Enjoy these brownies as a single-serve dessert or snack with their creamy peanut butter center.
