Ingredients

  • 4 banana peeled, very ripe
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter divided
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup walnuts
  • 1.25 cup chocolate chips divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan before lining the bottom with a piece of parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until completely smooth.
  3. Cream eggs, butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl on medium speed.
  4. Add mashed bananas, ¼ cup peanut butter, and vanilla to butter mixture and continue to mix on medium.
  5. In a separate bowl combine the baking soda, baking powder,salt, and flour. Whisk together with a fork.
  6. Slowly add the flour to the batter continuing to mix.
  7. Add 1 cup of chocolate chips, and walnuts to batter stirring until fully incorporated.
  8. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan.
  9. Bake for 1 hour 10 minutes at 350°F or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Remove from oven and cool completely before removing the banana bread from the pan.
  11. In the microwave melt ¼ cup chocolate chips in a small bowl 15 seconds at a time until the consistency is pourable.
  12. In the microwave melt ¼ cup peanut butter in a small bowl 15 seconds at a time until the consistency is pourable.
  13. Drizzle banana bread with the peanut butter and chocolate.
  14. Slice and serve.
