Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars combine creamy peanut butter and butter in a soft, chewy batter with both semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips. These bars bake in a 9x13 pan producing a lightly crisped edge with a tender center, making a rich, sweet treat ideal for sharing or snacks.

Description

This recipe blends melted butter and smooth peanut butter with brown and granulated sugars to build a sweet base batter. Eggs and vanilla extract provide richness and structure, while flour, baking soda, and salt ensure proper rise and balance. The mixture is thoroughly combined to prevent lumps before folding in mini semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Once pressed into a parchment-lined 9x13 pan, the bars bake for 15-18 minutes until the centers are mostly set but still soft. Cooling for about 15 minutes helps the bars firm up, allowing clean cutting without crumbling. The resulting texture offers a chewy, moist bar with pockets of melted chocolate lending sweetness and contrast.

These bars suit casual occasions, packable snacks, or dessert sharing. The dual chocolate chip types enrich flavor complexity and complement the peanut butter base well. They can be stored in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
