Peanut Butter Cookies

Peanut Butter Cookies combine creamy peanut butter and softened butter with a mix of brown and granulated sugars for balanced sweetness and chewy texture. The dough is lightly leavened with baking soda and gently pressed with a fork before a brief 7-8 minute bake, resulting in tender cookies with slightly crisp edges. These cookies are ideal when you want a straightforward peanut butter treat with a classic texture and flavor.

Description

This Peanut Butter Cookies recipe blends half a cup each of softened butter and peanut butter with brown and granulated sugars, then incorporates an egg, vanilla, baking soda, and unbleached all-purpose flour. The ingredients come together to create a dough that is scooped into balls and pressed fork-wise before baking. Baking at 350 degrees for 7-8 minutes yields cookies that are soft and chewy inside with a delicate crispness around the edges.

The cookies do not require elaborate preparation, making them accessible for everyday baking. The peanut butter provides distinctive flavor and richness, while the dual sugars contribute moisture and sweetness. Pressing the dough balls helps achieve the traditional criss-cross pattern and even cooking.

After baking, cookies should cool briefly on the sheet to set slightly before being transferred to a cooling rack. They can be served right away or stored in airtight containers for up to three days, maintaining their texture well. This recipe is well-suited for those who appreciate a classic peanut butter cookie with straightforward ingredients and method.
