Peanut Butter Cookies

Peanut Butter Cookies use a blend of butter, peanut butter, sugars, eggs, and leavening agents to form a dough that chills before baking. The result is a cookie that balances a rich peanut flavor with a soft yet slightly chewy texture. Baking at a moderate temperature produces golden edges while keeping the center tender, making them ideal for snacking or dessert.

Description

This Peanut Butter Cookies recipe combines equal parts softened butter and creamy peanut butter with white and brown sugar for a sweet, nutty base. Eggs help bind the dough, while the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt provide structure and leavening. After mixing, the dough is chilled to firm up fats and improve dough handling. Baking scooped dough balls at 375°F for about 10-12 minutes yields cookies with slightly crisp edges and a soft center.

The cookies have a balanced sweetness and a rich peanut undertone. The mixture of baking powder and soda allows for gentle rising and tenderness. These cookies are suitable for including in lunchboxes or serving alongside milk as a classic treat.

Using a stand mixer helps achieve a creamy batter, but mixing by hand can also work. Setting a kitchen timer can assist in baking consistent cookies. Chilling the dough also prevents excessive spreading during baking.
