Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

These Peanut Butter Cup Cookies are soft cookies made with peanut butter and sugars, formed into balls baked in mini muffin pans, then topped with unwrapped mini Reese's peanut butter cups pressed in while warm. The result is a rich, tender cookie base with a peanut butter cup melding into the top surface, creating a peanut butter and chocolate combination in each bite.

Description

The recipe uses classic ingredients including all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, softened butter, white and brown sugar, peanut butter, egg, vanilla, and milk to make a smooth cookie dough. After mixing dry ingredients separately, the wet ingredients and sugars are creamed together before combining to form a soft dough.

Shaping the dough into one-inch balls and baking in greased mini muffin pans keeps the cookies uniform in size and shape. Pressing a mini peanut butter cup into each cookie immediately after baking allows the candy to soften slightly into the warm cookie, creating a combined peanut butter and chocolate flavor.

These cookies have a tender, chewy texture with a pronounced peanut butter taste enriched by the chocolate candy on top. They work well as a snack, dessert, or for sharing at gatherings.
