Peanut Butter Fudge

Peanut Butter Fudge is a creamy, rich confection combining smooth or chunky peanut butter with butter, brown sugar, and powdered sugar. The mixture is cooked on the stove to a gentle boil, then flavored with vanilla before being spread into a lined pan to set. Chopped peanuts sprinkled on top add crunch and texture. The result is a sweet, nutty fudge that cuts into squares, ideal for dessert or gifting.

Description

This peanut butter fudge recipe begins by melting unsalted butter and brown sugar together over medium heat, then stirring in peanut butter to create a smooth, heated base. The mixture is brought to a steady boil while stirring to fully combine the ingredients.

After removing from heat, vanilla extract is added to enhance depth of flavor. Powdered sugar is then incorporated gradually to thicken the fudge and develop its sweet, creamy consistency. The prepared fudge is poured into an 8-inch square pan lined with foil or parchment paper for easy removal, smoothed evenly, and topped with chopped peanuts for additional texture.

The fudge must cool and set for about an hour before cutting into squares. This makes a classic peanut butter candy with a balance of sweet and salty notes and a slightly firm yet creamy texture. It can be stored at room temperature once set and is suitable for sharing during holidays or special occasions.
