Description

The Peanut Butter Nutella Candy Bar Brownie involves melting butter, Nutella, and peanut butter together before incorporating dark chocolate, sugar, eggs, and flour to make a thick batter. It's baked in a tart pan for a fudgy consistency that remains moist inside. Once cooled, the brownie is topped with a ganache made from cream, chopped chocolate, peanut butter, and Nutella, creating a creamy, glossy layer. Adding candy bars on top introduces a playful crunch and sweetness variation.

The combination of chocolate and nut spreads enriches the flavor profile, balancing sweetness with a subtle saltiness and deep cocoa notes. The smooth, spreadable ganache contrasts with the dense brownie texture, making each bite satisfying. Serving this dessert at room temperature highlights the ganache's silky texture and the brownie’s moistness.

For best results, avoid overbaking to maintain tenderness and allow the ganache to set fully before slicing. The recipe notes mention it was adapted from Whip It Up with permission and suggest variations in toppings depending on preference.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1/2 cup butter unsalted
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter creamy
  • 3 ounces dark chocolate chopped, high-quality
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 egg large
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • nutella peanut butter ganache
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate chopped, high-quality
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter creamy
  • 2 tablespoons Nutella
  • Assorted candy if desired, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch tart part with a removable bottom.
  2. Heat the butter, nutella and peanut butter in a small saucepan over low heat until melted. Whisk until smooth. Add in the chocolate and let it sit for a minute, then whisk until it melts. Stir in the sugar, salt and vanilla extract. Beat in the eggs one at a time, beating until combined. Stir in the flour until JUST combined. Pour the batter in the greased tart pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. It won’t appear finished, but you don’t want to bake it longer! Let it cool completely.
  3. Spread the ganache over top of the brownie and cover in your favorite halloween candy – or leave it plain! Slice and devour.

nutella peanut butter ganache

  1. Add the chopped chocolate, peanut butter and nutella to a bowl. Heat the cream in a saucepan over low heat just until bubbles appear around the edges and it’s warm. Pour the cream over the chocolate and let it sit for 30 seconds, then stir continuously until it’s smooth. Let it cool slightly until it thickens and is spreadable without dripping. Spread on the cooled brownie.

Notes

  • Take care not to overbake to preserve the brownie’s moist, fudgy texture.
  • Cool the brownie completely before spreading the Nutella peanut butter ganache for a smooth finish.
  • Optional candy toppings add extra texture but can be omitted for a simpler presentation.
  • Use high-quality dark chocolate for richer flavor in both the batter and ganache.
