Peanut Butter Sheet Cake
Description
This Peanut Butter Sheet Cake includes flour, white and brown sugars, peanut butter, butter, eggs, buttermilk, and baking soda combined to produce a tender, moist cake. The peanut butter and butter are melted together with water to create a flavorful base before mixing with dry ingredients and wet components like eggs and buttermilk.
Baked in a greased jelly roll pan, the cake cooks quickly at 350°F until a knife inserted comes out clean, resulting in a soft yet sturdy texture. The frosting is made by boiling butter, peanut butter, and milk, then gradually whisking in powdered sugar and vanilla to form a glossy glaze poured over the warm cake. This frosting adds a creamy, sweet, and peanutty finish.
The cake serves well as a dessert for casual gatherings or peanut butter enthusiasts. It is typically sliced into squares, with the frosting providing a shiny and rich top layer that complements the cake's flavor.
