Pecan Pie Brownies

Pecan Pie Brownies combine a rich chocolate brownie base with a gooey pecan pie topping. The brownies are partially baked before pouring on a sweet, syrupy filling mixed with chopped pecans, which is then baked until set with a slight jiggle in the center. This dessert offers a layered texture, with fudgy brownies underneath and a sticky, nutty topping. It is prepared in a single pan, making it practical for serving twenty square portions for gatherings or family treats.

Description

Pecan Pie Brownies starts with a standard box brownie mix baked slightly less than package directions indicate, forming a dense chocolate foundation. The topping combines granulated sugar, corn syrup, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and pecans to mimic traditional pecan pie filling. Once the initial brownies have set briefly, the pecan mixture is poured on top and baked further until the filling firms up but still jiggles slightly, ensuring a moist, chewy topping with crunchy pecans. Cooling completely before cutting helps maintain clean portions.

The brownies deliver a contrast between the rich cocoa flavor base and the bright sugary pecan topping, making a dessert suitable for dessert tables or casual treats. It pairs well with a glass of milk or coffee for balance.

If a single family-size box is unavailable, two regular-size boxes can be substituted based on pan size adjustments, maintaining the correct batter quantity for the 9x13 pan. Cooling fully before slicing improves presentation and texture stability.
